The 2025 AARP Community Challenge is supporting 383 livability projects, with a focus on meeting the needs of older adults, through $4.2 million in quick-action grants.

Flagship grants enable a community to implement a project within one of several categories — and be creative about doing so. 

Demonstration grants support projects that improve pedestrian safety, expand access to high-speed internet, reconnect communities and promote age-friendly housing.

Capacity-building microgrants support mobility options, disaster preparedness and home-modification efforts.
