Bridging the Digital Divide
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, 4 out of 10 older adults were unable to access needed online services — such as telehealth visits, ordering
groceries, scheduling a vaccine — from their homes. Six out of 10 older adults say the cost of high-speed internet is a problem. See what the chair of the Federal Communications Commission, and leaders from AARP and the National League of Cities, have to say about getting more people of all ages reliably (and affordably) connected.
WATCH THE WEBINAR
AARP Livable Communities has been shining a light on the lack of reliable internet access in rural and remote places throughout the nation. Visit our articles archives to learn how communities are taking the lead in getting online, and how older residents without tech skills are gaining the high-speed internet and phone services they need.
