Created more than a decade ago to prepare for
the rapid aging of the U.S. population, the
AARP
Livable Communities initiative hosts
programs, conducts research, makes policy
recommendations, funds projects and works
locally through AARP offices in every
state.
The AARP Policy Book integrates input from
AARP members and other older Americans to
guide the association's work for people age 50
and older. Chapter 13 explains what livable
communities are and how they benefit residents
of all ages.
