Walkability Solutions

The AARP Community Challenge has helped communities nationwide raise awareness about the need for local streets to be safe for all users, including pedestrians. In many places, AARP grant funds were used to both demonstrate and implement a solution for safer streets.

America’s Family and Living Arrangements — New stats for 2022: One-person households accounted for 29 percent of all U.S. households. The estimated median age to marry for the first-time is 30.1 for men and 28.2 for women (up from 23.7 and 20.5, respectively, in 1947). And 56 percent of people ages 18 to 24 live in their parental home.
