Eight states, one territory, and hundreds of towns, cities and counties are enrolled in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. By joining the network, local leaders nationwide are working to make their communities great places to live for people of all ages.

Age-Friendly Auburn Hills, Michigan

America’s Families and Living Arrangements — In 1960, adults living alone represented 13 percent of all U.S. households. That datapoint in 2021: 28 percent.

Free E-Bikes for Everyone! — That’s the proposal of writer Jay Caspian King, who makes a case for why "[c]ity governments should purchase an electronic bicycle for every resident over the age of 15 who wants one." Source: The New York Times ►

Ending Drunk Driving — The recently enacted bipartisan infrastructure package includes a provision for automakers to equip new vehicles with technology that can "passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired."
