Long-term care services and supports are difficult to navigate, afford, and access, according to a new qualitative report summarizing the issues facing caregivers and older adults in Illinois. The report from the AARP Public Policy Institute, based on in-depth interviews with diverse older adults and their family caregivers, notes the challenges that occur nationwide and in rural, urban, and suburban communities. In outlining the struggles, the report emphasizes the difficulty Americans have in identifying useful information and resources when it is needed.
