Family responsibilities discrimination (FRD) affects caregivers of adults and parents of children, and it comes in many forms, including unjust firing, refusal to hire, unequal treatment, and harassment. Since the onset of the pandemic, reports of FRD have increased significantly. While some jurisdictions have laws to protect caregivers from discrimination, not all cover family caregivers of adults, and some locales don’t address the issue at all.
