High inflation and an uncertain economy have dampened people’s optimism about their financial future, AARP’s latest semiannual Financial Security Trend Survey found. In July, one in three people said their financial situation was worse than a year earlier. Today’s realities highlight how government, employers, and other groups all have a key role to play in providing ways for individuals to take control of their financial lives.
