General SMS Information

AARP sends mobile SMS messages from three different phone numbers: 73478 - AARP Alerts, 50757 - AARP Information, and 22777 - AARP Advocacy. The type and frequency of messages sent varies based on your selection. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by texting STOP to the specific phone number(s) you are subscribed to (which may include one to all of the following phone numbers - 73478, 50757, 22777). By sending STOP to any of these phone numbers, or by replying "Stop" to a message from one of these phone numbers, you agree to one additional confirmation message stating that you've opted out and will no longer receive messages from that phone number.

6. I accidentally opted out of the AARP SMS messages, how do I start receiving them again?
   1. To sign up for AARP text messages, visit AARP.org Account Manager.
7. Why can’t I sign up for AARP SMS with a non-U.S. mobile number?
   1. AARP only offers SMS communications to U.S.-based mobile numbers. Those with non-U.S.-based mobile numbers are not able to opt in to any of AARP’s SMS subscriptions.
